Hello, I am Orly Polak. I am 48 years old. I got TTP on 13th of June. I created this page on my company website so you are always able to find me, my family and colleagues. This is a personal page and only used in medical emergencies.
What is TTP?
Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (TTP) is a rare disorder of the blood coagulation system and is considered a true medical emergency. Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare blood disorder in which thrombi (blood clots) form in small blood vessels throughout your body. These blood clots can restrict the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your organs, causing a number of life-limiting complications. Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is a disease characterized by an increased tendency to bleeding and thrombosis. In TTP antibodies are made against coagulation proteins. It is a rare disease. The disease is life threatening and rapid recognition of an attack is necessary.
Symptoms
Hematoma and pale appearance. Symptoms of headache, decreased awareness, epileptic insults, nausea and vomiting. Usually a patient or the family will quickly recognize an attack of TTP. In case of suspicion, a blood content (Hb) and platelets (platelets) should be measured quickly (cito).
Therapy
Rapid recognition of an attack and then starting plasma exchange. In the startup phase of plasma exchange, initially 2 bags of blood plasma can be given. Transfusion of platelets should be avoided as much as possible. A center where plasma pharmacy is possible should be consulted.
